Robyn is a very happy, grounded person, but after the death of her father, she struggled with grief, insomnia, IBS and midlife hormonal issues. The pilates classes she had taken for years no longer served her. In 2015 she was drawn to the mindfulness of yoga and the personal challenge of sinking deeper into the asanas - of developing strength, flexibility and balance both on and off the mat. Before long, all of her physical issues disappeared, and yoga became part of her daily practice. Inspired by her new sense of health and well-being, she also began using mindfulness and breathing techniques with her students, (in her other life as a high school administrator), and noticing tremendous results. She was moved to study yoga at a much deeper level, and in 2017 she completed the 200 hour certification training with Breathing Space. Robyn combines her experience as an educator with the wisdom of middle age to affirm the benefits of yoga for anyone at any age. She lives it! And she loves it – hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga & yin.
A pitta, Robyn works hard to balance her type A personality with moderation, meditation and healthy eating. She is a life-long learner who loves reading, writing, hiking, kayaking, knitting, quilting and baking bread. She is determined to face her fears and do things anyway.
Fun fact: Robyn & her husband, Keith, love ballroom & Latin dancing - many Saturday nights they can be spotted on dance floors around town. Great exercise, great fun!
