I was introduced to yoga by my wife, Carolyn who completed her teacher training with Breathing Space Yoga Studio. I saw the many benefits that yoga was bringing to her life and as she began to share her practice with myself and our daughters, I could see that this was enhancing the balance we needed as a family. Three years ago, I enrolled in Yoga in Schools and the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Breathing Space Yoga Studio, with the intention to deepen my practice and find a way to share the value of yoga and mindfulness with students and colleagues at my school.
My approach to yoga is an inclusionary one. I truly believe that yoga is for everyone. I make my practice about meeting my student’s needs and having them find success in their expression of a pose. I want this to be about listening to their own physical needs and extending this awareness off the mat and into their daily lives. Everyone already has this strength and knowledge within. My role is to allow this process to unfold in a nonjudgmental and open atmosphere.
I practice being in the present moment, spending time with my family, my students and getting as much time outdoors as possible.
